 UAEU Board of Trustees holds its first meeting of academic year 2022-2023

The Board of Trustees of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) today held its first meeting for the academic year 2022-2023.

Chaired by Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to the President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Chancellor of UAEU, the Board discussed UAEU’s two-year action plan in the areas of strategic research of national priority and the expected implementation costs that will necessarily enhance the university’s world rankings of universities.

The Board received a presentation on the UAEU’s key performance indicators and financial performance for the half year ending 30th June 2022, which reflects the university’s commitment to its strategic plan and institutional development.

The Board also received a presentation on the transformation projects in association with the government’s new methodology that the university will implement with federal entities. They have been introduced to ensure the government’s work focuses on the UAE’s 10 Guiding Principles for the next fifty years.

Nusseibeh congratulated the Board members on the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Commission’s formal acknowledgement that reaffirms the UAEU’s accreditation for a period of ten years.

Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Chair of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee, presented the Committee’s report and recommendations. The Board duly approved a new Bachelor of Arts programme in Applied Sociology and Data Analysis effective from the academic year 2023-2024.
