His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, said that the UAE’s advanced healthcare infrastructure, strong healthcare capabilities, and the country’s partnerships with leading global medical institutions, has enabled it to provide world-class medical services to all members of the community.

Sheikh Mohammed’s remarks came during his visit today to the 4th edition of the Dubai Health Forum, accompanied by H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.

Upon his arrival at the event, being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed was welcomed by Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, and Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority.

The two-day event brings together more than 2,000 scientists, doctors and specialists from 30 countries as well as leading companies specialised in the manufacturing of smart medical technologies.

Dubai Health Forum 2022 also features the participation of ministers and decision-makers in the healthcare sector from the UAE and across the world.

Welcoming the participants, Sheikh Mohammed stressed the UAE’s commitment to supporting all efforts and ideas aimed at enhancing people’s health and wellbeing and providing them with the best quality of life.

He also attended part of the main session at the Dubai Health Forum 2022, which features a diverse agenda this year, and the participation of highly respected decision makers, health practitioners, industry experts, scientists, doctors, health specialists and innovators.

Sheikh Mohammed toured the Smart Medical Equipment and Solutions Exhibition, held on the sidelines of the Forum, where he was briefed on the latest smart technologies being exhibited by leading tech companies from around the world.

He also visited the Dubai Health Authority stand at the Exhibition, where he was briefed on the Authority’s ambitious project to develop a global centre for heart diseases and surgery in Dubai. The project, which aims to create a prestigious world-class centre for the treatment of heart diseases, will be equipped with the latest technologies and smart equipment and staffed with highly specialised doctors.

As part of the tour, Sheikh Mohammed was also briefed on Rashid Hospital’s Control and Follow-up Centre for Cardiology that specialises in following up on the progress of heart patients in their homes after they receive treatment at the hospital.

He then made a stop at the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services stand, where he reviewed the latest smart technologies used by the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, including the region’s first ever deployment of paramedic eye technology and the ‘Smart Board’, which monitors the movement of ambulances in Dubai.

The event features more than 30 sessions, in addition to a range of training workshops, lectures and discussions.

Discussions being held at the Forum over two days are grouped under 10 main themes.

Vital topics being discussed include the COVID-19 pandemic, the new normal, the path to recovery, vaccination, effective post-pandemic care, sustainable development of the healthcare industry, the role of the media in the COVID-19 pandemic, digital health, genomics, space medicine, big data and artificial intelligence, value-based care and health economics.
