Abdullah bin Zayed attends MoFAIC event on UAE’s 51st National Day
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, attended an event organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) on the occasion of the UAE’s 51st National Day.
The event was attended by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State; Khalid Abdullah Belhoul, Under-Secretary of the MoFAIC; as well as the deputies, under-secretaries and heads of administrations under Sheikh Abdullah, and the country’s ambassadors.
The event began with the playing of the UAE’s national anthem, followed by a video on the country’s history and major achievements.
In his speech at the event, Al Marar thanked President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, on the occasion of the UAE’s 51st National Day.
“National Day is an ideal opportunity to celebrate the country’s current achievements. The UAE’s leadership has always been keen to invest in development and the national economy and support national cadres,” he said.
“The UAE has adopted an approach that focusses on the priorities listed in the Principles of the 50, to achieve leadership in all areas over the next 50 years. Moreover, it launched the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision during this year’s meetings of the UAE Government,” he added.
The UAE shares deep-rooted and distinguished relations with all countries, underscoring its principles that prioritise the values of openness, partnership and cooperation to achieve peace, he further added, noting that the UAE’s policy is characterised by being balanced, dynamic and transparent, and adheres to international law and respects the sovereignty of countries.
The UAE participated in COP27 held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, and worked closely with the Egyptian leadership to help promote climate action and reduce emissions, Al Marar stressed, adding that the UAE will host COP28 in 2023 at Expo City Dubai.
The UAE is continuing its sustainable humanitarian work, confirming its commitment to achieving peace and prosperity in the region and the entire world by providing developmental, humanitarian and charity support to several friendly countries, he further added, noting that the overall value of foreign aid provided by the UAE since the start of 2021 has totalled AED13 billion.
