Egypt hosts launching of 18th Sharjah Narrative Forum
Under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Egypt, on Monday, hosted the launch of the eighteenth session of the Sharjah Narrative Forum that will last for two days and host more than 60 creators.
The opening ceremony was held at the Egyptian Opera House in Cairo in the presence of Abdullah Al Owais, Head of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, Dr. Hisham Azmy, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Culture in Egypt, and several Egyptian intellectuals, academics, and those interested in narrative writing.
The host of the opening ceremony, the Egyptian poet Hassan Amer, pointed to the tremendous cultural role played by Sharjah at the Arab and international levels, as it is represented in many festivals, forums and other activities. He explained that through its cultural activities, the Emirate of Sharjah has become a cultural centre for creators from every destination.
At the beginning of his speech, Abdullah Al Owais stressed that the continuation of the cultural activities held under the umbrella of the partnership between the Ministry of Culture in Egypt and the Department of Culture in Sharjah in the UAE enhances the process of joint cooperation, which resulted in the organisation of many diverse literary and artistic activities.
